Mapache x They Don't Know At The Beach

“This next song’s a special dedication to all of the beach people.” And with that, Mapache — the band led by Los Angeles duo Sam Blasucci and Clay Finch — launch into “They Don’t Know At The Beach,” the latest single from their new album Roscoe’s Dream, out June 10 on Innovative Leisure / Calico Discos. It’s a stoned and conspiratorial love song that unfolds with the sunburnt beauty of a Beach Boys ballad as it weaves a romantic tale of two lovers on the run from the FBI, perfect for soundtracking the most tender moments of a Pynchon novel or a lazy afternoon spent by a pool positing your latest theories on extraterrestrials.

Mapache x All About Our Love

In our latest collaboration with Calico Discos (a label imprint by Allah-Las), we are pleased to announce an album of cover songs by the band Mapache entitled 3.  "All About Our Love" - - Sade's timeless classic is the lead single from the forthcoming project and is out now across DSP's

More info about the covers project:

Shortly after having their North American tour canceled due to Covid in March 2020, Sam, Clay & their close friend and producer Dan Horne decided to hunker down and use the time to work on an album of covers.  Ranging from songs by close friends like Allah Las & Little Wings, to classics by Stevie Wonder & the Beach Boys, what resulted is an effortless & touching take on songs you may or may not be familiar with.  Other artists include: Sade, Babe Rainbow, Peter Rowan, The Louvin Brothers

Maston x Souvenir (Album)

In 2018, composer/producer Frank Maston was living in Paris, working on new music when he was introduced to Geneva based band L’Eclair. Blown away by what he heard, there seemed to be a mutual understanding and appreciation for that loungey, groovy world of library and soundtrack music from the seventies. An immediate thought occurred to him - what if he could record with this simpatico group backing him up? The result is the colorful and kinetic album Souvenir, out today September 10 on Innovative Leisure / Calico Discos (the label of Cali band Allah Las).
To accompany the album release, Maston is sharing a new animated video for album single "Do You Feel It Working?" According to Maston "This song was written in the summer of 2018 and recorded in February 2019. It was the first vocal song I wrote since my debut album. L’Eclair joins me on the recording, which was engineered and mixed by Jasper Geluk at Tone Boutique in Haarlem. I’m playing the Rhodes Piano and singing.   The video was animated by Mark Neeley.”

The new single, “Ghost," is centered around a descending chord progression, with cryptic lyrics sung in falsetto. It has an air tight rhythm section, synthesizer acrobatics, a catchy melody and two solo sections. It was one of the first songs written for the record and the music was recorded in one take. The song is both reflective and optimistic, and all around a feel good tune."
